11/25/2013

Well Just some news to tell you folks, President told me this morning that I shall be coming home a little early because of visa things, so expect the date to change to end of September to beginning of October time, he has to get things figured out. Anyway, I found that out this morning during our interviews with him. He said he has been really proud of the work that I’ve been doing as a zone leader and that the lord is proud too. It’s never a bad thing hearing compliments like that! I keep thanking my Heavenly Father for all of these blessings he has given me on my mission, I have the best mission in the whole world, it shall be sad having to go home a little early, but he told me that it would help them out a lot.
As for this past week, we were supposed to have a baptism this past Saturday, but it wasn’t able to be accomplished because she had some medical issues, it was sad to see how heartbroken she was, it broke my heart too. She has been waiting for years now; she wants to be baptized more than anything. She told us that she has faith in the Lord though, and her time will come. I included a picture of my new companions; they are really awesome, elder Bates and elder Vautier. Elder Bates will be finishing his mission in about 3 weeks now, so that’s why the president of the mission put him with us. He is an awesome guy, and I always feel the spirit with my two new companions, it’s awesome!
As for the other pictures, its Arii and Ura, the couple that I baptized last weekend. They are amazing, such a strong spirit of service with the two.  They come do missionary work all the time with us. I hope you all know how much I love you; I tell everyone all the time that I have the best family in the world. I always tell too, that I never really profited from how amazing they were before my mission, but I definitely will after my mission!! It reminds me of the story in the Book of Mormon in Alma 32:14-16 where it talks about the poor people who were rejected from the churches and were in a way forced to become humble. I’m kinda like those poor people, I was forced to see the importance of family, but the Lord has blessed me with this eternal knowledge, and I’m eternally grateful! He says in the verses that the people who aren’t forced to be humble are blessed even more...but hey, I’m here to help people avoid the mistakes I made.  Either way, I have the joyful occasion of teaching about eternal families, as I enjoy the blessings of having one of my own.  I love you all so much, be safe this week, sorry I didn’t have much to write, it’s a crazy busy day today. Until next time!

11/18/2013

It has really flown by this week! It was a very spiritually rewarding week as well! Three baptisms and three confirmations! The couple that we are with is two of the people who were baptized. The other person seems to avoid getting his picture taken, so I don’t have one of him. But I love this couple way too much! The guy is the guitarist in a band here that is extremely popular, so that’s another cool story that I will have to tell you all when I come home! Also this week, we fixed four more baptisms! A whole family!!!! They are all going to be baptized the second of December, I can’t wait!

It really has flow by this past year. I don’t like how fast it goes by, but it just means that I will be able to see my family in no time! God really has blessed me this past year, He knew that serving a mission would be a huge change for me, and a hard one at that. Yet he has helped me laugh, smile and sometimes cry out of joy almost every single day. He really does know me personally! I wouldn’t trade this experience for the world! Oh and speaking of trading, elder Lee found out yesterday that he is being transferred! Crazy how fast things happen here, he leaves today, so we are going around and saying goodbye to all the families for the next hour! I don’t really have much time to write today, so I added a few pics to tell the rest of the story! I love you all so much! Be safe this week!!

11/04/2013
This week has been crazy, I love the Area that I’m in right now, and the Lord is giving me blessings that I haven’t even been asking for! This week we had 2 baptisms, one for my sister Poehere teore and the other for Elta Faara. I love them both so much and am so happy for this decision that they made in their lives to finally get the key in order to enter into the kingdom of God. I had a really powerful experience during Poehere's baptism, a memory that will forever be graven into my mind. It was right after I baptized her and she came out of the water crying, so naturally I thought it was only because she had really been feeling the spirit. But later after she had changed and came back into the chapel, I went down to talk to her and ask how she was feeling, she quickly grabbed my hand and squeezed it really tight, and with tears streaming down her face, she looked at me with one of the purest smiles I’ve ever seen and simply said, "Thank you, thank you, thank you." It was crazy how strong the spirit was for me at that point, it was a real testimony for me that we had just accomplished a promise that we had made to each other, long before we came to this earth. I will never forget that experience, it was so cool!!
I love my mission way too much, sometimes I feel bad because I never thought that a mission would be this uplifting! Missionaries ask me all the time why I am so happy, the only answer that I can really give them is because I love the people so much. I never doubt why I was sent here, I’ve had too many experiences that tell me that I was always supposed to be here. So, I thank the Lord every day for this amazing gift he has given me.
Other than the two baptisms we had, we had the usual things happen during the week, I eat, I teach, I bear testimony, I smile, I laugh, I drive, and I sleep. All in Tahiti. Halloween was really phun this year; we were invited by an investigator, to be a part of their trick or treating activity for their little neighborhood. So I made banana leaf costumes for my companion and I and then we went and helped pass candy out for all the kids. It’s really phuni, all the little kids here think I look like superman, so they always just call me superman haha. But for Halloween, I dressed up like a Tahitian Zorro, Twas great phun. Many videos that are too big to be sent over email, but we shall all sit together after my mission to watch a slideshow of the best two years of my life! I love you all so much, and am very grateful for all the fasts and prayers, they really do help me and my companion! We are truly blessed!!
Stay safe this week!
